Kitty Logan is an experienced TV news reporter, video journalist and media trainer.
She has worked in over 40 countries, specialising in crisis areas. She has a strong
focus on humanitarian reporting, but is just at home in the newsroom as the field -
always with a keen interest in international affairs.

About

Kitty has reported for major international news broadcasters such as Sky News, CBS News, DW News and France24, often filming and editing her own stories for global broadcast. She was also a home news reporter for Sky News in the UK for three years.

Kitty started her career at DW News in Berlin, before heading out to film for aid agencies and produce an independent documentary film on Afghan women. While filming in Kabul, she was offered the opportunity to join Sky News as a freelance producer/ reporter. Following training in London, she continued to freelance for Sky News from various countries for the next eight years. She later returned to Kabul as rotating CBS News correspondent.

As well as covering Afghanistan in depth, Kitty has reported on conflicts in Iraq, Libya and Ukraine, covered breaking news stories such as the death of Colonel Gaddafi in Libya, political protests in Lebanon and Germany winning the World Cup from Berlin. In the UK she recently covered the EU referendum, the Westminster attack and the latest election campaign.

She has also produced video content for the UN and aid agencies - including UNHCR, UNICEF, Oxfam and Save the Children - on issues ranging from the migrant crisis in Europe, Syrian refugees in Lebanon, food shortages in Ethiopia, to large scale emergencies like the Asia tsunami.

Kitty’s work has also appeared in print in The Guardian, The Telegraph, online for CBS News, CNN Travel and DW News and she has filed for numerous international radio stations. She has also worked as a field producer/ fixer on documentary productions and has many years of newsroom experience.

Kitty has worked in developing countries as a media trainer/ advisor for the UN, DW Academy, The Asia Foundation, as well training government clients for Crown Media in the UK. She herself trained as a media trainer at the Thompson Reuters Foundation in London.

She has solid video production skills, with basic BBC camera training, knowledge of Final Cut and Adobe Premiere edit software and knowledge of ‘MOJO’ iPhone news gathering.

Kitty is accredited with the UK National Union of Journalists. She has completed hostile environment training and first aid courses. She lived in Berlin, Germany for many years and speaks fluent German.

Kitty continues to contribute to various international broadcasters from London. She is interested in covering news stories, producing features and documentaries and conducting media training - in the UK and worldwide. Kitty is currently based in London, UK.
